Assam: Tiwa Autonomous Council election counting begins, BJP leads with 18 seats

MORIGAON: The counting of the ballots for the TIWA Autonomous Council (TAC) elections has started today from 8am onwards. A total of 3,08,409 votes have voted across 410 polling stations on December 17.

The polling took place in 36 Tiwa dominated constituencies comprising parts of Morigaon, Nagoan, Hojai and Kamrup (M) districts.

BJP is currently leading in 18 seats out of 36 and Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) is leading in one seat.

BJP contested in 35 council seats while its ally party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has contested in one seat and Congress  in all 36 seats.
