1 Army jawan dead due to ceasefire violation by Pakistan

On 10 Jul 2020, Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the line of control (LoC) in Nowshera Sector, District Rajouri (J&K). Own troops responded strongly to the enemy fire. In the incident, Havildar Sambur Gurung was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries.

Havildar Sambur Gurung was a brave, highly motivated and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.

Figures obtained by HT show that the Pakistan army violated the ceasefire 685 times in 2019 and 627 times in 2018 for the period January to March.

Earlier Pakistan ceasefire violation

An Indian Army jawan was killed in action after the Pakistan army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch Sector in Jammu and Kashmir on June 13th, 2020.

In the incident, Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries.

“Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei was a brave, highly motivated and a sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,” an Army statement stated.

Earlier on June 11th, 2020, an Indian Army jawan was killed in action after Pakistan army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri Sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased, identified as Naik Gurcharan Singh, belonged to Harchowal village in Gurdaspur district in Punjab.

“Our troops responded strongly to the enemy fire. In the incident, Naik Gurcharan Singh was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries,” an Army statement stated.

On June 4th, 2020, an army soldier was killed in action after Pakistan army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the LoC in Sunderbani Sector in Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
