Agartala (Tripura), September 15, 2018:

Almost 18 tribal children of North Tripura who were rescued from a Buddhist missionary in Bihar on Friday were found to have signs of physical torture in their body after they were brought back to Agartala.

Most of these children were sent to the Buddhist institution by their families to study two years ago. The families had to pay money for their children's education even though it was a Buddhist mission-run school as said by Tripura State Child Welfare Society chairperson Nilima Ghosh.

Sudip Roy Barman, Minister for Health and Family Welfare reached Agartala Railway Station to receive the children. He also mentioned that no child should be sent out to other states for education without the knowledge of the state government.

Nilima Ghosh also assured that the children welfare society would soon take legal action on this issue.
