2 arrested for raping 14-year old girl in Tripura

AGARTALA: The Tripura police on Monday arrested two youths in connection with the rape of a 14-year old minor girl in Panisagar area of North Tripura.

Out of the three prime accused, the police have been successful to capture two while the third one, Rajesh Rudrapal (27), is still on the run.

The two arrested accused have been identified as Subhrajit Sen (27) and Sanjoy Nath (25).

Reportedly, the incident took plac last week in broad daylight when the two of the prime accused forcefully took the girl to a nearby forest and sexually assaulted her for hours.

The police stated that one of the accused, Sanjoy Nath, was not involved in the rape directly, however, he didn’t try to stop the crime either.

According to reports, the three accused were known to the minor victim.

After the crime, the girl returned home. However, her mother suspected that something was wrong after seeing her in a state of shock and exhaustion.

The girl narrated everything to her parents the next day after falling severely ill.

The family lodged an FIR against the three accused and rushed her to a hospital.

Based on the FIR, the police raided the houses of the three accused and arrested two of them. The search operation continues for the third accused, the police stated.

Reportedly, the victim has been released from the hospital.
