2 Uttar Pradesh returnees test COVID-19 positive in Meghalaya

Two stranded returnees from Uttar Pradesh have been tested positive for COVID-19 in South West Garo Hills in Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma stated.

With these, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has gone up to 46; of which eight are active cases and one died due to the infection.

Meghalaya and the Northeast

Assam has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Northeast India followed by Tripura.

India COVID-19 cases so far

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 6 thousand deaths. It has recorded 135796 corona cases with 67706 cured, 6283 deaths, and 61807 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 62655 cases with 36602 cured, 2233 deaths, and 23820 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 62087 positive cases with 34112 cured, 794 deaths 27181 active cases. Gujarat with 27825 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 19909 have been cured, 1684 deaths, and 6232 active cases.
