IMPHAL: At least 20 militants belonging to different proscribed outfits have surrendered with arms and ammunitions before chief minister N Biren Singh today at a homecoming ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of 1st Manipur Rifles Complex, Imphal.

 

"In another major achievement of our BJP led Government, altogether 20 militants from different proscribed outfits have surrendered with arms and ammunition to the Government at a homecoming ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of 1st Manipur Rifles Complex, Imphal, today," CM Biren Singh tweeted.

 

Among the 20 militants, 16 militants belong to the Thadou People’s Liberation Army (TPLA), while the remaining are of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the PREPAK (PRO).

The chief minister further said that the surrendered militants would be provided with a one-time payment of Rs 4 lakh each and a monthly stipend of Rs 6,000 during their three-year stay at rehabilitation camps.

 

The militants who have surrendered will also undergo job-related skill development training, CM Biren Singh added.
