21-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped and Murdered in Assam Tea Estate

Dibrugarh, August 17, 2019:

A sensational incident has transpired in Assam's Dibrugarh which has shaken up the entire community. The body of a 21 year-old girl has been found in Barbaruah Tea Estate in Dibrugarh district of Assam today. The girl's family members and local residents have alleged that the girl was raped and murdered.

As per reports, the girl came out of her residence at 3 No. line of the tea garden at about 6:30 am in the morning for her duty at BCPL township.

As usual, she came today through the No.5 line of the tea estate using a short cut, but sadly, never reached her destination. The tea labourers plucking green leaves noticed her body near a drain a while later, which caused a situation of hue-and-cry in the garden.

The family members have lodged an FIR at Barbaruah Police Station alleging it as murder after rape.

According to reports, the local Police have started an investigation and have sent the body for post mortem.
