NEW DELHI: In spite of being vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, at least 37 doctors at Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19.
According to reports, all the 37 doctors were tested positive for the virus yesterday while treating Covid-19 patients at the hospital.
The majority of these health care warriors are suffering from mild symptoms. 32 doctors have been put in home isolation, while 5 have been admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government has released an order requiring 115 private hospitals to set aside 50% of their total ICU and ward bed space for Covid-19 patients in light of the recent increase in coronavirus cases.
The government has also ordered that the total number of beds reserved for Covid-19 patients at Lok Nayak Hospital be increased from 1000 to 1500, and that the number of beds reserved at GTB Hospital be increased from 500 to 1000.
Furthermore, dental and ayush doctors were also directed to be deployed at the Covid-19 hospitals in Delhi.
