AGARTALA: Four National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) militants who fled from Bagaichari camp under Rangamati district of Bangladesh on January 31 where they were trained have surrendered before security forces in Tripura on Thursday.

The four NLFT militants have been identified as Sethi Debbarma (20), Rajib Debbarma (18), Bisharam Reang Lalong (21), and Zawmina Reang (27).

Police officials are interrogating the four and according to reports during the preliminary interrogation, it has come to light that the four cadres joined the outlawed outfit NLFT around 2018-2019.

The extremists told police officials that they realized that their so-called fight for Tripura's independence is entirely a "farce attempt" and has no prospect for the overall development of the state's tribal people.
