India COVID Update: Only 6 states have more than 100k active cases, Centre reports

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) informed on Sunday that only six Indian states have more than 1 lakh active cases of COVID-19.

'Only six states with more than one lakh active Covid-19 cases (As on 30th May 2021 till 8 AM),' India Fights Corona, the official I&B ministry handle on Covid-19 updates, tweeted.

The above-mentioned six states with their active number of cases are -- Karnataka (350,087 active cases), Tamil Nadu (310,157), Maharashtra (279,347), Kerala (233,425), Andhra Pradesh (173,622) and West Bengal (102,398).

These six states altogether have 1,449,036 or 68.52% of the total active cases all across the country.

The country as of now has 21,14,508 active COVID cases.

India's tally of total COVID-19 cases stands at 2,78,94,800 as it has reported 1,65,553 fresh cases over the past 24 hours.

As many as 3,460 patienst succumbed to the virus so far which has pushed the death toll to 3,25,972.
