An 84 year old man with comorbidities defeated COVID-19 and was discharged from hospital in Shillong on Friday. He was admitted to Bethany Hospital in Shillong after being infected with coronavirus. He is the oldest COVID-19 patient in Meghalaya. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma saluted the brave man for his fighting spirit and wished him good health.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that the state government has spent over Rs 200 crore in the last nine months to fight the COVID-19 pandemic which has strained the finances of the state, forcing the government to explore ways to reduce expenditures.

Sangma sounded optimistic in the face of grim financial situation saying that the government would work on improving the system.
