9,577 polling stations set up for last day of polling in Assam

Assam will head to the polls one last time on Tuesday to decide the fate of 54 candidates from the final four Constituencies – Gauhati, Dhubri, Barpeta, and Kokrajhar. Preparations are underway in full swing all over the state to ensure the safe and smooth passage of the elections and security measures are being taken in all fur Constituencies to ensure the safety of voters.

9,577 polling stations are being set up under Phase-III of the election in Assam, and a total of 38,308 polling personnel have been deployed under the Phase-III. Moreover, 200 Coys of security personnel have been deployed to keep a watch over the proceedings. Moreover, a minimum of one constable has been deployed in every polling station.

Moreover, six micro observers and five general observers have been appointed for Phase-III. Meanwhile, four expenditure observers and three police observers have been appointed.

One hundred and twenty-five Flying Squad Teams (FST) have been appointed for Phase-III, while 112 Static Surveillance Teams (SST) have been appointed for Phase-III.

83 Video Surveillance Teams (VST) have been appointed.

Meanwhile, 9,577 sets of EVMs and VVPATs will be used.

It may be mentioned that two Balloting Units are being used in Gauhati HPC as there is a provision for 16 candidates only in a single Balloting Unit. 17 candidates are contesting for Gauhati HPC.
