Chandigarh, December 8, 2019:

Pictures from the sets of Aamir Khan's upcoming release, Laal Singh Chaddha, which is an official remake of the multiple Oscar-winning Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, have been leaked online.

In the latest pics released from the set, Aamir Khan is seen sporting a scruffy beard and a baseball cap, a la Tom Hanks in the 1994 Hollywood classic. Aamir's resemblance to Hanks in the leaked pictures is uncanny, and it seems he is channeling Hanks' look from the 2nd half of the movie, in which he goes for a cross-country run.

The new pictures have sent expectations soaring for the Advait Chandan directorial, as fans are now waiting with bated breath for Aamir Khan to recapture the magic of Hanks, who secured his second Oscar with his memorable performance.

Aamir, who is also known as Mr Perfectionist in Bollywood, reportedly lost a whopping 10 kilos to play a younger version of his character.

The film, which stars Kareena Kapoor as the female lead, has been shot in Chandigarh and Rupnagar. Reportedly, Aamir wore a turban while filming in Punjab. According to reports, parts of the film have also been shot on the right bank of river Sutlej at Garh Bagha village on Rupnagar-Nurpurbedi road.

Expectations are running sky-high for the film, which will be released in X'mas 2020, as 'Forrest Gump' is one of the most celebrated pop culture phenomenons in the western world.

The character of Gump fought in the Vietnam War, made millions off of shrimp, won the Medal of Honor, ran across the United States a few times, had a friend named Bubba, and played pingpong like no other.

Thus, fans are eager to know what Bollywood's desi take on the movie and the iconic character will be. Aamir fans are also expecting a stellar performance from Mr Perfectionist. After all, anything Hanks can do, Aamir can do better, no?
