The two parties, which have been spearheading the CAA protests in Assam, today staged a demonstration outside the District Commissioner’s (DC) office in Jorhat to send the message that the government should roll back the CAA.

“The Narendra Modi-led BJP government and the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government are criminals. Their crime is that they have neglected the democratic protests against the new law. Without paying heed to the ongoing protests, they supported the CAA, which is totally communal, unconstitutional and against the Assam Accord. They conspired to win vote banks. The Assamese will never accept this conspiracy,” said one of the protesters.
