Guwahati, September 3, 2019:

All Asom Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (AABYSF) on Tuesday claimed that the All Assam Students’ Union’s statement against the legal aid promised by the state government to the people left of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) has created a situation of panic in Assam.

Addressing the media, AABYSF stated that after the publication of the NRC, the AASU commented that all those excluded from the NRC are foreigners and they must be deported to their respective countries.

The Bengali Youth Students’ body has urged the indigenous people of Assam to have faith in the concerned authorities.

The body alleged, “We already know that the maximum number of people left out of the NRC belong to Hindu Bengali community. The reason behind this is the state coordinator Prateek Hajela secretly ordered the authorities to accept the documents like migration card, refugee documents, etc. He has also disregarded the orders of the Supreme Court. Following this, he along, with the NRC authorities will face legal apprehensions.”
