Air India Special Flight to Evacuate Indian Nationals from Wuhan amid Coronavirus Outbreak

New Delhi, January 31, 2020:

Air India will be evacuating Indian nationals from Wuhan, China and its special flight is set to depart from New Delhi with five doctors from the Ministry of Health.

After getting the green signal from China, the Air India aircraft will depart from Delhi today. Spokesperson, Air India, Ashwani Lohani took to Twitter and shared, “The national carrier once again comes to the rescue - this time to evacuate Indians from Wuhan, the site of the outbreak of coronavirus. This mission begins today with a Jumbo 747 operating between Delhi and Wuhan. Jai Hind.”

It may be mentioned here that India’s first case of Coronavirus was reported in Kerala on Thursday. A student studying in Wuhan University, China was tested positive. In China, the death toll due to Corona has increased to 170 and new cases are also on the rise.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also declared the Novel Coronavirus as a public health emergency of international concern. According to Ministry of Health, the announcement of the world’s top health advisory body came after considering the fact that Coronavirus has spread to the other countries neighboring China. The virus has spread to as many as 21 countries, including India.
