Guwahati, May 25, 2019:

Air Marshal RD Mathur (AVSM VSM), Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command visited Air Force Station Laitkor Peak on Friday.

He was accompanied by Shipra Mathur, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) of Eastern Air Command.

They were received by Group Captain Manish Khullar, Station Commander, and Simmi Khullar, President AFWWA (Local).

The Air Marshal was given a brief presentation which focused on the operational potential and war fighting capacity of the station.

RD Mathur also inspected all the units of the station and ongoing works services. During the interaction with the air warriors, the Air Officer emphasized on the need to be operationally focused and vigilant, especially in view of the ongoing security scenario.

The air warriors of the station exhibited high josh and enthusiasm while interacting with the Air Marshal. Leading by example, the AOC-in-C practiced live firing of small arms along with the air warriors at Station Small Arms Firing Range.

He also brought out that the station would be playing a key role during operations in times to come. He also touched upon various initiatives being taken by the IAF in terms of human resource management. RD Mathur exhorted the air warriors of the station to remain operationally focused, physically fit, mentally agile and live up to the motto and highest traditions of the IAF.
