GUWAHATI: Sibsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on Thursday demanded an open debate on Assam Cattle Preservation Bill in the Assembly.

Interacting with the media on the fourth day of the budget session, Gogoi said that he has issues with just the Cattle Preservation Bill among the 7 legislatures tabled during the sessions.

Akhil Gogoi receives warning of expulsion from Assam Assembly

Earlier on Thursday, Gogoi received warning from the Speaker for violating assembly norms. Speaker Biswajit Daimary warned Gogoi to expel from the Assembly if he continues to violate norms.

This has come after Akhil Gogoi raised the issue of areca nut smuggling from Myanmar to the state during the question hour.

“If the rules and regulations are not followed in the house, I will have to be strict,” Daimary said.

“If rules violation continues in the house during the sessions I might be forced to get those people out of the house.”
