SILCHAR: Independent MLA from Sibsagar Akhil Gogoi, a known political rival of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has stated that no police complaint from Mizoram against Assam CM will be tolerated regarding the border conflict between the two states and Akhil Gogoi is in Sarma’s support.
Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi has arrived in Silchar today to take stock of the border clash between Assam and Mizoram which had turned bloody on Monday.
While speaking with the media persons, Akhil Gogoi said, “We are criticising Assam chief minister for his failure in resolving the border conflict. It does not imply that we will entertain Mizoram’s police complaint against our CM.”
Gogoi added further, “We are with our CM in this regard. We will not tolerate any complaint from Mizoram against our CM and Mizoram must quash their FIR the soonest.”
Mizo Zirlai Pawl, a student body of Mizoram, has filed an FIR against Assam CM and six others under the IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) in connection with the bloody border clash on Monday.
