Akhil Gogoi slams Himanta Biswa Sarma as ‘Dalal’

Guwahati, January 17, 2019:

A clash of verses can be witnessed between much debated State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Krishak Mukti Sagram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi for passing contradictory statements on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2916 and Assam Accord by the finance minister in a leading satellite news channel of Assam.

On this, Akhil Gogoi slammed Sarma by terming him as a ‘Dalal’ since college days. Gogoi said, “Before commenting anything let me tell you who Himanta Biswa Sarma is. Sarma was popularly known as Congressi Gunda during the Cotton College days. We were disgusted by his act”.

Akhil Gogoi further added, “He used to work as agent of Hiteswar Saikia and took money from student for admission in Cotton College. For all these reasons, he was removed from All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and later joined ULFA-I as all know where he got arrested in relation to extortion case. But surprisingly he managed to clear all those reports available in the Police station and court.”

He also added, “Himanta said of protesting against the Assam Accord in 1985 but there was no protest against the accord at that time.”
