‘Alliance with AIUDF impossible’: Tarun Gogoi

Assam’s former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, while addressing the media on Thursday, stated that an alliance with Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF is “impossible”. Gogoi’s statement comes after there were murmurs of the Congress and AIUDF jointly contesting the Lok Sabha elections after the AGP-BJP reunion.

Tarun Gogoi also renewed his assault on the AGP party, which has renewed its alliance with the BJP during a late-night development on Tuesday, has now come under attack from former Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi due to its dual stand.

Addressing the media, Tarun Gogoi said: “What the AGP leaders have done for the sake of Minister posts is unheard of in the history of politics. The AGP party has again insulted the sentiments of the indigenous people of Assam for the sake of Ministerial posts. With this stunt, the three Ministers have even left ‘Badan’ (Sarbananda Sonowal) behind.”

The former CM also criticized the BJP Government in the lead up to the Lok Sabha elections and alleged that the Government has insulted and ignored people who belong to all walks of life. Gogoi also said that the BJP was desperate to reunite with the AGP as they could not hope to win the elections alone.
