Agartala, April 18, 2020:

Sanjay, a migrant laborer from Rajasthan who failed to return home due to the nationwide lockdown, has symbolically chosen to name his new born baby as “Lockdown”. Sanjay’s wife Puja gave birth to a baby boy at IGM hospital in Agartala few days back and since then, Sanjay is determined to name his baby as 'Lockdown'.

With the entire nation being put on standby mode, the process of naming the child is yet to be initiated, but the migrant labourer from Rajashthan says that he has chosen the name. "In this time of lockdown, happiness came to our lives in the form of our son. I feel this name will suit him the most and will be recited as an anecdote by the generations to come”, Sanjay told reporters.

It is pertinent to mention here that even though the duo had tried to return to Rajasthan when the lockdown was called, they failed to take the last train home.

Sanjay along with his pregnant wife and 16 others had been living at a camp in Badharghat School and the administration was providing them with food, water and essential medicines on a regular basis. Later, his wife Puja was hospitalized at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital four days ago and eventually gave birth to a baby boy.

She was discharged from the hospital on Friday and father, mother, and child were then sent back to the camp in Badharghat School. A team of officials also visited the camp today to inquire after the health condition of the mother and her newborn son.

A medical check-up was also organized for the inmates of the camp on Saturday. When asked by doctors as to what name had he thought for his child, Sanjay said, “I think I will name him Lockdown.”

It may be recalled here that earlier this month, a baby boy in Uttar Pradesh was named ‘Sanitizer’. According to the child’s father Omvir Singh, his son was named ‘Sanitizer’ because it has the capacity to fight against the deadly virus.

“Whenever people will talk of corona, they will remember that it was the sanitizer that saved them’, Singh told a news agency.
