Guwahati, January 20, 2020:

Indie rock band, Trance Effect from Nagaland has managed to woo the Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra.

Trance Effects’ latest release, Clowns, has compelled Mahindra to appreciate the musical talent of the Northeast region. Sharing the latest music video on Twitter, Mahindra wrote, “A friend sent me this link. A group called Trance Effect from Nagaland. I wonder if the rest of India—and also the world—understands the musical talent that is brewing & incubating in our North East?”

Released about a week ago, Clowns talks about an individual trying to fit in with the society which is already a mess, people trying to pretend to be happy but deep inside they are all struggling to find happiness, being lost in that crowd trying to find one’s own true self as the chorus goes, "covered in paint, we're all clowns lost in the crowd". It basically means that we the society as a whole is just trying to be like a clown pretending everything's fine when in reality there is more to the story behind everyone's covered faces.

As Indie rock bands are gradually making its way in Nagaland, Trance Effect, a two-year-old band, has also managed to mark itself in the music scene of the region. It features four members - luli Yeptho on Vocals, Sosang Lkr on Drums, Tako Chang on Guitar and Imnamaong Imchen on Bass.
