Guwahati, May 2, 2019:

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has found itself in the midst of yet another controversy as it has been found that the futures of the 3,361 candidates’ who passed the preliminary stage of the exams is at stake.

We have arrived at this situation after a ‘goof-up’ in ‘answer key’ of the recently announced results of the Combined Competitive (Prelims) Examination, 2018. The APSC has, meanwhile, stated that re-evaluation was conducted to ensure no deserving candidate is left behind in the highly competitive exams which are held for some of the most prestigious Government posts in the state.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Principal Controller of Examination (APSC) stated that the result of the CCE exams was declared twice due to wrong answers provided by the experts of APSC.

It may be mentioned that a couple of answers from every subject was wrong the first time they uploaded the answers.

Dipak Kumar Sarma, APSC chairman said a few candidates complained about the errors in the ‘answer key’, so the APSC took up the issue with experts and scrutinized the ‘answer key’ thoroughly.

Sarma said that the Commission made arrangements for re-evaluation so that no deserving candidate is deprived because of the faulty ‘answer key’.

These technical issues plaguing one of the leading bodies of the state has been harassment for the ASPC hopefuls
