APSC Scam: Judicial Commission summons over 20 ACS, APS officials

GUWAHATI: A Judicial Commission has issued notice to over 20 ACS and APS officials today for their alleged involvement in the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

Titabor SDPO Nabanita Sharma, 3rd APTF DSP Farukh Ahmed, Lakhimpur SDPO Kulpradeep Bhattacharya are among the over 20 ACS and APS officials who have received summon notice from Biplab Sharma of the Judicial Commission.

If reports to be believed, almost 21 to 25 officials are on the list and received notices.

It needs mention here that the Judicial Commission was set up by the Assam Government to enquire about the alleged malpractices that took place in the conduction of Combined Competitive Examinations in 2013 by the APSC, the results of which were declared on May 12, 2015, as per direction ofthe Gauhati Hight.

As many as 59 ACS and APS officials were arrested by the police including prime accused Rakesh Paul (former chairman of APSC) for their involvement in the cash-for-job scam.

Although charge sheet was filed against the arrested accused, most of them are out on bail now.
