Civil Services exam 2019 results have been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Pradeep Singh has topped the exam. Pratibha Verma is the topper among women candidates. A total of 829 candidates have been selected for various Civil Services through the 2019 edition of the exam.

Aranyak Saikia, Nibedita Dutta, Kishore Sutradhar, and Tapan Deka from Assam cracked the exam while Yangchen Doma Bhutia and Zigden Linderpa from Sikkim and Richard Yanthan from Nagaland cracked the examination.

Aranyak holds 59th All India Rank while Tapan holds 766th, Yangchen holds 677th, Zigden holds 794th and Richard holds 133rd rank.

“The UPSC 2019 result has brought cheers to Nagaland after more than 10 yrs. Mr. Richard Yanthan, a EAC probationer is placed at rank133. Heartiest Congratulations and wish the best to all successful candidates,” Mhathung Yanthan, MLA from Sanis, tweeted.

The UPSC has declared the final list of selected candidates based on the result of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2019 held in September, 2019 and the interviews or Personality Test held in February-August, 2020.

Among those who had availed the EWS quota, which was implemented in the Civil Services Exam for the first time in 2019, 78 candidates have been selected. The result of 11 candidates has been kept withheld.

UPSC conducts the Civil Services exam every year for selection of candidates to Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Other Central Services.

The Civil Services exam 2020 was scheduled to be held on May 31. The exam has been rescheduled to October 4 in view of the coronavirus crisis.
