ARMS AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED IN WEST GARO HILLS IN MEGHALAYA, ONE ARRESTED

Guwahati, October 24, 2018:

The West Garo Hills police in Meghalaya has arrested a person and recovered substantial amount of arms and ammunitions from his possession.

Acting on specific input, the police arrested one K Sangma at a naka checking in Nengkalgre village.

One 7.65mm pistol, one magazine, three live rounds of 7.65mm of ammunition, 500 gms of suspected explosive materials, two detonators along with wires and one mobile phone was recovered from his possession.

The police has ruled out the possibility of Sangma belonging to any militant organization and suspects him to be a petty criminal.
