ARUNACHAL: 288 CASES SETTLED IN LOK ADALATS

All together 288 cases, including 264 pre-litigation and 24 pending cases, were disposed of by various courts across Arunachal Pradesh by holding National Lok Adalats involving a total settlement amount of Rs.28.56 lakh.

The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority stated this in a press release.

As directed by the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA), the Lok Adalats took up the cases, including pre-litigation cases and pending cases such as civil, NIA cases, MACT, matrimonial, bank recovery and criminal cases of compoundable nature.

The Lok Adalats were conducted by the District and Sessions Court of Yupia, Additional District and Sessions Courts of Basar and Bomdila, and Chief Judicial Magistrate courts of Seppa, Yupia, Roing, Aalo and Judicial Magistrate courts of Tawang and Yupia.

It may be added that the Legal Services Authorities in the districts have been holding Lok Adalats and disposing of cases at regular intervals, thus contributing a lot in the swift disposal of cases and justice delivery, the release added.
