Itanagar, June 25, 2019:

The newly reinstated Arunachal Pradesh state government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu is all set to begin its new innings with the formulation of the Arunachal State Budget 2019 and is seeking holistic suggestions from the citizens to be incorporated in the final budget likely to be placed in the Assembly in its maiden session next month.

Khandu reiterated that time has come again to put all "our heads and hearts together to shape our future, steer our destiny and plan to make our beautiful state Arunachal Pradesh, a better place for our children".

"This year’s budget must draw a roadmap where we all intend, aspire and see our state Arunachal Pradesh by 2024", the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister urged and welcomed all – community based organizations, NGOs, intellectuals, senior citizens, women activists, academicians, students and youths - to participate in the budget preparation by putting forward their views and suggestions by logging on to www.arunachalbudget.in.

It may be mentioned that the BJP party won a violence-marred election in the frontier state Arunachal Pradesh. An MLA called Tirong Aboh was even gunned down by suspected NSCN militants.

Pema Khandu, who was sworn in as CM for a second term, occupies a special place in Arunachal Pradesh politics as one of the major strategists in ensuring that the BJP's lotus blooms in the northeastern state.

Ever since he assumed the office of the chief minister of the key state bordering China in July 2016, Mr Khandu and his cabinet have changed their party twice -- from Congress to the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) and then to the BJP -- all within a span of just five months.

It may be mentioned that Khandu is the son of former chief minister Dorjee Khandu, who died in a helicopter crash in 2011, Pema Khandu was inducted into his successor Nabam Tuki's government as the water resource development minister.
