ITANAGAR: Continuous rain in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar flooded numerous parts including police stations and residential areas.

In several regions of the Arunachal, particularly the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) and bordering areas of the Papum Pare district have resulted in major property losses, agriculture field damage and infrastructural damage, due to heavy rain.

The Nirjuli police station was entirely inundated with rain water and police personals utilised buckets to remove the flooded rain water off their campus.

Inspector Surender Singh said, “the rain water entering the police station's compound and causing damage to immovable properties is a common occurrence throughout the summer.”

Police are unable to carry out their official duties since all personnel gets busy with cleaning and preventing the hard copy files from being damaged, Singh added.

According to the report, both urban and rural regions of the ICR and the Papum Pare district has effected badly due to landslide.

Several residences in Borum village have been flooded by the nearby Borum Nallah which has been dumping a massive amount of rain water.

According to reports, around eight houses and other household properties in Lekhi village had damaged.
