Arunachal: Dehradun returnee tests COVID-19 positive, tally climbs to 4

Arunachal Pradesh has reported a fresh COVID-19 case taking the total to four. The patient had returned from Dehradun in Uttarakhand recently. Of the total four cases, three are active in the state so far.

As per information, the patient was asymptomatic at the time of detection. The 12-year-old patient, who is a resident of Upper Siang, was later shifted to COVID-19 Care Center.

Earlier the day on May 30th, 2020, the first COVID-19 patient was discharged from the hospital after recovery.

Arunachal Pradesh registered the third COVID-19 positive case on May 27th, 2020 night while the second confirmed case was detected on May 24th, 2020, when an Arunachalee student, who returned to the state from Delhi on May 18th, was tested positive for the virus.

Health officials had informed the student, who was kept in institutional quarantine and his swab sample taken on May 22, tested positive for COVID19.

The first COVID19 patient, a 31-year-old man, was discharged from hospital in April after he was declared cured. The man from Medo village attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz in March after which he tested positive for COVID19 on April 1.

According to the bulletin, a total of 260 samples will be sent on Sunday for COVID19 tests in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Assam has registered a total of 1216 confirmed COVID-19 cases and four deaths so far. Assam is followed by Tripura with 261 cases and Nagaland with 43 cases.

India COVID-19 cases so far

The novel coronavirus has infected over 1.82 lakh people and claimed over 5164 lives as on May 31, 2020, morning, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There are 89995 active cases with 86984 cases discharged and cured.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 65168 corona cases with 28081 cured and 2197 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 16343 cases with 9230 cured and 1007 deaths. Tamil Nadu has registered 21184 cases with 12000 cured and 160 deaths. The National Capital with 18549 COVID-19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on May 25th, 2020. So far, 8075 have been cured in Delhi with 416 deaths.
