So far, 499 people over the age of 45 have been vaccinated, with 111 receiving their second dose. A total of 2,576 doses have been given to healthcare staff, frontline workers, and the above-mentioned vaccinated people. Given the district's lack of road infrastructure and the vast distances between villages, this is no small accomplishment.

On the other hand, the vccination for the people above18 and below 45 age started on 17 May.

A paltry 84 people in the age group were administered vaccines.

Although the figures are not alarming, the district is under lockdown until May 31.

Arunachal in the past 24 hours reported 226 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the tally to 24,093 and 3 more deaths taking the death toll to 98.

The state currently, has 2,899 active COVID-19 cases while 21,096 people have recovered from the infection so far.
