Arunachal dy CM Chowna Mein launches tourism assistance app for Namsai

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein has launched ‘My Namsai', a smartphone application that will provide tourists visiting Namsai with digitised information on all of the district's tourist attractions.

The app, designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Namsai, will not only cater to tourists' travel needs, but will also provide information on governance, other tourism-related facilities, and activities carried out by the Namsai district administration.

It will assist visitors in receiving accurate and reliable information on tourist hotspots directly from the government, as well as bringing all of the district's tourism information together in one location.

Mein used his Twitter account to spread the message. “Technology is slowly permeating everywhere and efforts are being made to ensure that new initiatives are operational in the real as well as the virtual world. My hearty congratulations to the officers of NIC Namsai for developing the app,” he tweeted.

Namsai is known for its grand pagodas, stunning scenery and vibrant tribal culture.

Namsai is home to the Tai Khampti and Singpho tribes.
