ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein, who is also the finance minister in-charge, tabled the state budget 2021-22 at the state assembly in Itanagar on March 3.

Mein said this year the state has decreased the fiscal deficit from last fiscal’s 2.28 percent to 2.19 percent.

 

The government will focus on six key areas of growth-- health and well being, reinvigorating human capital, inclusive development for aspirational Arunachal, physical and financial capital and infrastructure, minimum government and maximum governance and innovation research and development, said Mein.

“The state survived the brunt of nation-wide lockdown with the guidance and support received from the Centre,” Mein said.

 

“We have fared better than other counterparts,” he added.

 

Mein mentioned that Rs 1,895 crore was allocated for clearing old liabilities of SIDF and additional RE. About Rs 180 crore was allocated for catering to CCI projects. While an increasing amount of Rs 1000 crore was allocated for central sector schemes (CSS). Further, he mentioned a mission to achieve Rs 5000 crore funds from the Centre under various CSS.
