Arunachal MLA Ninong Ering moves Centre to pump money in to state's eco-tourism

Itanagar: Ninong Ering, the MLA who represents West Pasighat Constituency in Arunachal Pradesh, has urged the Centre to fundamentally transform agrarian sector of the frontier state by allocating more funds and developing a key area as an eco-tourism hospot. Union Agriculture Minister Giriraj Singh has assured Singh that the Centre will lend its hand for the projects proposed by the MLA.

 

The Congress firebrand recently met Union Agriculture Minister Giriraj Singh and urged the latter to take some initiatives to develop the agricultural sector of the state.

 

"I want to apprise you about the tremendous potential of Villages in Arunachal Pradesh I firmly believe that North East India can grow on the pillars of 3Cs (Culture, Commerce and Connectivity)," the MLA wrote in his communique.

Ering further requested the Union Minister to develop the Mirem village falling in his constituency as an eco-tourism hotspot by the construction of a fish pond with tourist amenities on the lines of the iconic Wards lake in Shillong.

 

"This perennial spring water in Mirem village in Pasighat West can be converted into a lake with fisheries protect and also with basic amenities like cafe boating. Even the construction of wooden footpath across the lake can add to its beauty," he added.

 

Ering wrote in a tweet that he also discussed the rearing of mithun and yaks to be reared by stall feeding with ducks and chicken on an individual basis.

 

"He (Singh) has assured to fund these schemes in a pilot basis in Arunachal. (sic)", Ering wrote in his post.
