TAWANG: A review meeting on the status of COVID-19 Vaccination in Tawang District under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Tawang, Sang Phuntsok was held in Tawang on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the DC asked Medical Officers, in charge of various Health facilities and HMOs to convince those refusing vaccination, till so far there have been around one hundred refusals due to various reasons.

The meeting was attended by ZPC Tawang Leki Gombu, DMO Dr Wangdi Lama, Medical Superintendent, DRCHO and in-charges of Health facilities and Health and Wellness Officers.

Speaking on the occasion DC Tawang said, “to achieve hundred percent vaccination in the district which is being done according to electoral roll, head counting of all is to be done, and we have to find out those migrated and death cases”.

DC stressed on increasing IEC activities. ZPC Tawang Leki Gombu and DC Tawang both assured all possible assistance in providing facilities like a vehicle, manpower Fuel, etc during vaccination at various interior Covid Vaccination sites of the district.

DRCHO Tawang Dr.Rinchin Neema, informed that all COVID-19 related and normal vaccination works at ground level are being done in a very good manner, but due to shortage of manpower at health facilities, the concerned medical officers are not able to send the updates on time and placed his request to DC and ZPC to spare clerical staff for the same. He further informed that vaccination to 45 plus age group in Tawang district has been achieved 91% while vaccination for 18-44 years of age group has been 23% only Since the vaccines are available so the number of achievement of this group will also increase shortly and a Medical team will leave for interior Mago and Luguthang villages next week for vaccination.
