Arunachal Pradesh records 70 fresh Covid-19 cases; 2 deaths

ITANAGAR: At least 70 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh over the past 24 hours, taking the tally in the state to 17,607.

Of the new cases, 13 were reported from the Capital Complex Region, while West Kameng recorded 12, Lower Dibang Valley 20, Papumpare eight, Namsai two, Changlang five, Tawang seven, followed by Upper Subansiri, Pakke Kessang and Lower Siang one case each.

Barring 20, all the new patients were asymptomatic.

On the other hand, two more people succumbed to the disease during the period.

An 82-year-old woman, who was undergoing treatment at the Dedicated Covid Healthcare Centre (DCHC), Roing, succumbed to the disease last night. She was admitted to the hospital after testing COVID-19 positive yesterday.

Another 56-year-old woman with comorbid conditions of hypertension, diabetes and medication for liver disease, passed away at Dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH), Pasighat today. She was tested COVID-19 positive on April 18.

As many as 28 more people recuperated the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 16,968.

The state now has 590 active cases, while 58 people have succumbed to the infection so far.

The state has so far tested 4,36,658 samples for COVID-19, including 2365 today.
