Arunachal Pradesh records highest single-day spike of 244 Covid-19 cases; tally at 20,046

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh recorded the highest single-day spike of 244 COVID-19 cases yesterday, which pushed the tally in the state to 20,046.

The death toll however remained unchanged at 60. The current death rate in the state stands at 0.30 per cent.

As many as 77 new cases were reported from the Itanagar Capital Complex, 33 from Tawang, 20 each from Lower Dibang Valley and Lohit, 19 from Changlang, 13 from Lower Siang, 12 from East Siang, 10 from Lower Subansiri, nine from Namsai, six from Papumpare, seven from East Kameng, four each from West Kameng, Upper Subansiri and Upper Siang, and one each from  Leparada, West Siang, Shi Yomi, Dibang Valley, Anjaw and Tirap districts.

Accordingly, the number of active patients in the state increased to 2,002.

The total number of recoveries rose to 17,984 after 135 more persons recuperated from the disease.

The recovery rate stood at 89.71 per cent and the positivity rate at 9.99 per cent.

As many as 4,69,019 samples have been tested in the state so far, including 3165 yesterday.

On the other hand, 73,274 people have been fully inoculated in Arunachal Pradesh since the vaccination drive began in January this year.
