Former Union Minister and current legislator from Pasighat West, Ninong Ering has urged the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to protect the interests of students from North East India residing in the national capital.

People especially the students stranded in Delhi are facing harassment and racial discrimination during the lockdown period. “Students have been harassed for not being able to pay rent. I am receiving messages and calls from many students of Delhi University, who are originally from the Northeastern states of India, are facing financial hardships during this lockdown. Many students have lost their part-time job and can no longer afford even basic living costs,” erring said.

In a letter dashed off to the Delhi CM, Ering said the students have been facing harassment despite the landlords were asked not to demand rent for at least one month.
