After the ruckus over the granting of PRC to non-APSTs in Arunachal Pradesh, where many protestors were killed and scores were injured, opposition parties have come under one umbrella to demand the sacking of Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu.

A peaceful ‘dharna’ has been held in Itanagar by opposition parties on Saturday to demand the sacking of Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

The ‘dharna’ has been attended by leaders of Congress, Janata Dal (Secular), Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) have gathered in front of ‘Raj Bhavan’ at Itanagar to demand the sacking of the BJP Ministers due to their handling of the PRC issue.

In regards to Rijiju, the opposition claims that he should be sacked because of his arbitrary firing order on innocent protesters during the anti-PRC movement during which many Arunachali youths died during clashes with police.

The opposition has also demanded the sacking of Pema Khandu due to his failure to control the Law and Order situation in Arunachal Pradesh.

It is to be mentioned that thousands of Arunachal people took to the streets to fight against the Government’s directive to grant Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) to non-APSTs.
