ITANAGAR: Dr. Tadang Minu based in Arunachal Pradesh has been appointed to the Coaches Committee of the International Boxing Association (AIBA), the parent body for boxing in the world.

She is the first woman in the country and the second Indian to be appointed as a member of AIBA.

She is also the president of the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA).

Dr. Minu, who is an assistant professor at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), was recently selected to the position by the AIBA based on her extensive boxing experience.

Dr. Minu, who is the HoD (in-charge) of RGU's physical education department has also been re-elected for another two years as the chairman of the Boxing Federation of India's Women's Commission.

Teli Kahi from Arunachal also has been appointed as the secretary of the BFI's Youth Commission.

Kahi just received a 1-star coach certificate by the AIBA.

He is also the secretary-general of the AABA and currently works as a boxing coach for the state's sports department.
