Assam: 13 Police Personnel to be Honored for Distinguished Service on Republic Day

Assam Police department has selected thirteen officials to be honored on Republic Day for their distinguished and meritorious service to the department.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (MPC), Guwahati, has been selected for the prestigious President’s Police Medal for his distinguished service to the Police department of the state.

Twelve police personnel from Assam will be honored on Republic Day for their meritorious services to the department. Inspector Genral of Police, Kokrajhar, Anurag Agarwal, Inspector (UB) Ashok Kumar Dutta, Police Commisionerate, Guwahati, ASI Paresh Sahu, 19th A.P(IR) Battalion, Tengakhat, Dibrugarh, Bipin Chandra Gogoi, 1st A.P. Battalion, Ligiripukhuri, Nazira, Naik (UB) Ganesh Kumar Singh, Special Branch, Kahilipara, Guwahati, Naik(UB) Krishna Kanta Lahan, DSP, Sadiya Police, Constable(UB)-02 Binoy Sonowal, Sadiya Police, Constable Moinul Hoque Laskar, Morigaon DEF, Constable Bijoy Saikia, DSB, Sadiya Police, Constable Jani Ram Boro, Commando Battalion, Mandakata, North Guwahati, Constable Pravin Kumar, Border Organisation, Srimantapur, Guwahati and Constable Jiten Chandra Nath, Nagaon DEF.

It may be mentioned here that the President’s Police Medal for ‘Distinguished Service’ is awarded for long and distinguished service to individuals who have served at least 21 years in the police service or in the central police and security organizations.

Individuals must be prior recipients of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and must have held that medal for at least six years.
