Dibrugarh, December 8, 2019:

Amid the ongoing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill across Assam, activists of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) have vandalized a regional office of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).

In footage of the incident that is quickly going viral on social media, AASU activists can be seen swarming into an AGP office. The irate protesters then go on to kick chairs and create overall mayhem inside the office of the state's largest regional party. The AASU members can also be seen arguing with the local-level AGP activists at the office, and demanding answers as to why the AGP party is not voicing out its opposition to the Bill.

The anti-CAB activists also go on to destroy expensive computers and other equipment. Terming the party as the "brokers of the land", the protesters subsequently raise slogans against the AGP for its alleged silence over the CAB issue.

The footage seems to have confirmed that there is indeed a growing rift between the AGP and AASU -- which were once inseparable. Recently, the AGP party has also launched a student wing of the party, amid growing differences with the AASU due to "ideological differences."

Meanwhile, the AGP leader Atul Bora has also had to face the wrath of the anti-CAB protesters. Earlier today, Bora's house was gheraoed by an angry mob of anti-CAB protesters, in Golaghat district of Assam.

The irate mob consisting of Chhatra Mukti Sangram Samiti, which is the student body of the KMSS, has surrounded Bora’s house and raised various slogans, leading to an atmosphere of doom and gloom in Bengenakhowa, where Bora’s house is located. Reportedly, the Minister was in his residence when the protesters surrounded his house.
