Assam: Another JMB Terrorist Nabbed in Barpeta District

Barpeta, August 4, 2019:

Another suspected member of the banned terrorist outfit, Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) has been nabbed from Barpeta district in Assam.

The apprehendee has been identified as Danesh Ali and he was nabbed from Itarbhita village in Howly town.

As per official reports, Danesh Ali is suspected to have links with terrorist Shahanur Alam, the prime accused in the Burdwan blast case and a dreaded JMB cadre.

It may be mentioned that earlier, the Barpeta police had nabbed a youth with alleged connections to Jihadi groups called Mustafizul Rehman from Barpeta’s Salta and another youth called Safiqul Islam from Kaplabari village in Nalbari.

Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in the state, the police have begun a crackdown against suspected terrorists in the region.
