Guwahati, July 19, 2019:

In a latest development, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has decided to postpone the Combined Competitive (Main) Exams (originally scheduled to be held on July 22) due to the fury of floods in the State. This was informed by the Secretary of the APSC through a press communique.

The commission expressed that many candidates belonging to affected areas (at least twenty nine districts have been affected) have been suffering because of floods.

"The Combined Competitive Examination is conducted for all eligible candidates and it is the aim of the commission to see that all candidates sit in the examination. But due to the prevailing situation created by the unprecedented flood, there is likelihood that a section of the candidates would be deprived of the opportunity of sitting in the examination which will render the competition incomplete and not fair,” read the communique.

Examinations to be held from 22/7/2019 to 31/7/2019 are being rescheduled, as per the release.

It may be mentioned that candidates will be provided with new e-admission certificates for the examination.

The examination dates scheduled from August 2, 2019 to August 9, 2019 are not being re-scheduled.
