The All BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation slammed the BJP-led state government for doing nothing for the welfare of the community in Assam. “Bengali people in the state are facing severe hardships due to insincerity from the government itself,” adviser of the Federation Shyamal Sarkar said.

He also accused the government of not taking any step in recovering abducted Pradip Shill and urged the government to compensate Rs. 20 lakhs to the victim family in earliest manner.

The 28-year-old small businessman, Pradip Shill, hailed from Tamarhat area along the Kokrajhar and Dhubri district's border area, was kidnapped by unknown miscreants from Serfanguri Bazar on September 27th last year in Kokrajhar district. Shill, owned a motorcycle garage at Serfanguri Bazar in Kokrajhar district and was kidnapped by unknown miscreants at gunpoint. Pradip is the father of a baby child and family has been severely facing hardships since afterward kidnapped him. Sarkar has demanded early safe return of kidnapped Shill.

He strongly condemned the kidnapped and demanded for early safe return of Shill with sound health within a week from today. He alleged that BJP led state government has failed to extend welfare and development initiatives for welfare steps towards the Bengali community in the state.

He has termed that BJP never want welfare and development of the Bengali community of which why Bengali peoples are facing severe hardships in their leading life.

Sarkar also expressed serious concern over the recent kidnapped and murder of a vehicle driver at Gossaigaon area in the district.

He also informed that the Bengali Federation submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar seeking early safe recovery and return of kidnapped Pradip Shill.

“Even though the federation and several organisations are demanding early safe return carried out protest dharna and submitted memorandum to the government, yet no trace out inputs have reached till date of the kidnapped Shill. We demand safe return with sound health and peaceful environment in the region,” Sarkar added.
