Assam: BSF apprehends two smugglers from Indo-Bangladesh Border

DHUBRI: In yet another success in its crusade against trans- border crime, on October 19 and 20, the vigilant troops under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended two Indian smugglers and seized 50 bottles prohibited cough syrup in different operation from bordering area of district Coochbehar(WB) and district Dhubri(Assam).

Acting on a specific intelligence input on 19 Oct’ 2021, troops of 129 Bn apprehended 01 Indian smuggler and seized 50 bottles prohibited cough syrup from his possession while frisking at fence gate. When consignment was tried to be smuggled to Bangladesh.

The apprehended smuggler along with seized items have been handed over to PS Sahebganj for further legal action.

In another operation, acting on tip off, on 19 Oct’ 2021, troops of 41 Bn apprehended 01 Indian smuggler from Indo-BD border in village Bansichar, PS –Dhubri, Distt. Dhubri (Assam).

The apprehended smuggler along with seized items being handed over to PS Dhubri for further legal action.
