Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force observed 6th International Yoga Day on June 21st, 2020, which has changed the way of life and keeping body and mind healthy and hearty worldwide. The theme for this year’s International Yoga Day is “Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family”,

The International Yoga Day is celebrated internationally with a unique theme every year. The government has restricted any mass gatherings or public celebrations for International Yoga Day 2020.

Seema Praharis of Guwahati Frontier observed the Yoga programme at their Home/ Quarters on the theme of “Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family”, and their campus.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, observing COVID-19 protocol in BSF Campus in Frontier Guwahati and under Command Sectors and unit at their Home with family and colleagues. During Yoga programme all Seema Praharis followed the social distancing norms.

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the state amid the coronavirus pandemic adhering to the strict guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Assam Chief Minister Sarbanana Sonowal practiced yoga at his Dibrugarh residence.

“Yoga has given the world India's ancient heritage of physical, mental & spiritual wellness. Let's do Yoga & build a healthier society,” Sonowal said.

Kokrajhar in Western Assam, has also joined the celebration of the 6th International Yoga Day in a befitting manner by maintaining the social distancing and adhering to the other government guidelines.

Members of Kokrajhar district Patanjali Yog Samiti and citizens participated at the yoga exercise organised at its office premises at Kokrajhar town near railway station.State Pravhari of Mohila Yog Samiti Lalita Brahma lighted the lamp to inaugurate the celebration which saw maintaining of strict social distancing to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.

A jogging session was organised on the day where eight participants participated in maintaining social distancing with enthusiastic moments which was led by Yoga instructor Manaj Mushahary.

Mushahary told that the human being must join in the yoga day celebration to make a healthy life and be free from diseases. He said that yoga is the only way of life to combat the cOVID-19 in today’s era.

Meanwhile, the All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) and Art of Living jointly organised the day at Bodofa House in Kokrajhar. Members from ABSU and peoples attended the jogging exercise.

The Nehru Yuva Kendra,Kokrajhar has also organised the day at various village level amidst maintaining social distancing.
