Assam: BSF seizes Ganja and Phensedyl from Indo-Bangladesh Border

In different operations, troops of the Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier seized 14.2 Kg Ganja and 101 bottles Phensedy in the bordering areas of village Kismat Karala and Taraikhana, District Coochbehar (West Bengal).

These contraband items were being smuggling from India to Bangladesh. On the intervening night of 13/14 September 2020.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of BSF of BOP Karala of 38 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in the general area of village Kismat Karala PS-Sahebganj, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 8.7 Kg Ganja and 09 bottles of Phensedyl on 14 Sept’ 2020, while the consignments were trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

In the second operation, Acting on tip off, troops of BSF of BOP Khurshahat of 38 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Taraikhana, PS- Sahebganj, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 5.5 Kg Ganja and 9 bottles Phensedy on 13 Sept’ 2020, while the consignments were trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Seized Ganja and Phensedyl have been deposited to Police Station Sahebganj, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) for further disposal.

BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.
