Assam: Cattle smuggling attempt foiled in Kokrajhar district

The Police in Assam’s Kokrajhar district detected two loaded vehicles illegally carrying cows on Friday evening in the Bhotgaon Chengmari area.

At least 16 cows were being illegally carried to Dhubri via Gaurang Bridge Kokrajhar.

The Assam police seized two vehicles that were being used to smuggle the cattle by the smugglers. The Police arrested the driver of one of the two vehicles, while the other driver managed to escape from the spot.

The cows were smuggled in two vehicles with registration numbers – AS 17C 1503 and AS 17B 9593.
After the arrest, the police have now started its investigation into cattle smuggling.
